Known as one of the sharpest strikers in the Premier League, Harry Kane it’s been sluggish this season. This is what the manager said Tottenham Hotspur Antonio Conte Kane’s performance.
Harry Kane was the Premier League’s top scorer last season with 23 goals. The England international striker has a one-goal lead over Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah.
This season, Salah has scored 15 goals in 17 matches in the Premier League. While Kane has not yet shown his sharpness by only making one goal in 13 appearances in the league.
Antonio Conte called what happened to Kane as something very strange. However, Conte believes Kane is still important for Tottenham.
“It’s very strange, isn’t it? It’s very strange. If you compare what was done in the past, it’s very strange,” Conte said as reported by Mirror.
“But in the past too, in my experience, both as a coach and then a coach, things like this happen.”
“I played with important strikers who, for a long time, didn’t score. But my assessment of them hasn’t changed. I also want them in the team if they don’t score. Because if you have Harry Kane in the team, you certainly I just feel stronger.”
Tottenham will host Liverpool in the Premier League, Sunday (12/19/2021) night WIB. Antonio Conte hopes the Liverpool test will allow Harry Kane to give his best.
“I like having him in my team. Of course Jurgen likes to have Mo Salah. But I like having Harry in the team. He’s an important player for us and my expectations are very high and play an important game against Liverpool,” Conte said.
