Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are role models for him when it comes to achieving later in his career.
“They’re both just as good in their 30s as they were in their 20s. So I think it’s great that I know that if I stay physically fit and have the same attitude as before, I can play for as long as I want,” Kane said at ESPN.
“Ronaldo and Messi have set the bar very high. But that motivates me. The second half of my career is now beginning for me. The first half was good, can the second half be even better?” asked the Englishman.
Harry Kane: “Don’t like to look too far ahead”
“I still have many years ahead of me. Maybe when I’m in my late 30s, I’ll start thinking about what I want to do after football. Until then, I’ll take everything year by year, game by game. I don’t like looking too far ahead,” said Kane.
Kane moved from Tottenham to Bayern for 100 million euros in the summer. A high sum for a 30-year-old attacker who was given a four-year contract in Munich. Spurs boss Daniel Levy recently stated that his club a buyback clause had it built into the striker’s contract. Harry Kane has four goals in his first four Bundesliga games started his first season in Germany strongly.
