Prince William and Harry criticized the former BBC journalist and the broadcaster itself for a controversial interview with their mother, Princess Diana, NBC News reports.
William said the interview played a “significant role” in worsening parental relationships and hurt many people.
He emphasized that Princess Diana had been deceived not only by the dishonest journalist but also by the BBC’s leadership.
At the same time, Prince Harry accused journalists of influencing Diana, who died in a car accident through the fault of the persecuting paparazzi. Harry believes that it was the chain’s reaction to the unethical media’s actions that ultimately took Princess Diana’s life.
Earlier, the BBC acknowledged that Princess Diana’s interview with journalist Martin Bashir in 1995 was conducted using forged documents.
Martin Bashir, 58, quit the BBC last week citing health problems. In an interview with her in 1995, Princess Diana spoke for the first time about Prince Charles’ fraud, their betrayal and bulimia.
