Harry and Prince Charles hadn’t spoken in months

His younger son’s latest remarks “deeply hurt” the father

Prince Charles and his son Harry have hardly spoken in the last eight months and their relationship is in its coldest phase so far, writes “Daily Mirror”.

Harry and Megan left the UK last year after rising tensions with members of the royal family. They were critical of the Company before Oprah Winfrey and in other interviews.

Harry’s latest comments are now said to have left Charles “deeply shocked and hurt”, but the Prince of Wales is “keeping a dignified silence” amid fears that a public quarrel could harm the throne.

The father and son are said to have had only a few “tense” phone conversations since Harry and Megan left their roles as high-ranking royalty and moved to Los Angeles in 2020.

In an interview last March, Harry said his finances had been cut. He received 2 million British pounds from Charles for 2020/21.

Charles and Harry in 2014

Harry’s statement added fuel to their relationship on Sunday when he said he had “severed ties” with Saudi billionaire Mahfouz Murray Mubarak bin Mahfouz a year before Prince Charles awarded him the Order of the British Empire. Mahfouz is involved in allegations that he has donated charitable causes close to the Prince of Wales, hoping to receive honors and British citizenship. Prince Harry is believed to have been concerned about Mahfouz’s behavior in 2014 and ended his relationship with him the following year after meeting twice. Fears of public strife stem from the fact that Prince Harry has stressed that he is not involved in this “scandal with the Order” and that he has concerns about the motives of the Saudi businessman.

Prince Charles has been criticized in recent months for his relationship with Mahfouz and the hundreds of thousands of pounds the billionaire has donated to the British Crown Prince’s projects through his charity trust.

Prince Michael Fawcett’s senior aide has been forced to resign as head of the Charles Foundation over his role in the scandal. The Saudi billionaire is believed to have donated at least 1.5 million British pounds to royal charities.

A friend of the Prince of Wales told the Sun: “Charles is deeply shocked and disappointed by Harry’s latest statement, which effectively threw his father under the bus.” “This attack was more detrimental than the blow to Charles’ parenting skills, because it was a challenge to the way he runs his business, which is much more unpleasant for the future king,” the source added.
