Harry and Meghan return £ 2.4 million from the Frogmore Cottage renovation

Harry e Meghan they no longer have debts with British subjects. The couple – who moved to Los Angeles in one mega villa in Santa Barbara costing 10 million dollars – has returned i 2.4 million pounds (over 2.6 million euros) spent on the renovation of Frogmore Cottage (the Windsor residence donated by the queens) which was paid for by a court fund powered by British taxpayers’ money. This was announced today by a spokesman for the Duke of Sussex, specifying that the payment of this sum was financed with part of the revenues of the multi-million dollar contract recently signed by the second son of Prince Charles and Diana and MeghanMarkle with the American television giant Netflix to produce various programs. We talk a $ 150 million contract with Netflix in 5 years that allow Harry and Meghan to settle the bill in a single solution and no longer in installments, as we said at first.

Financial autonomy

The works of Frogmore Cottage, the subject of countless tabloid articles in the British right-handed popular press most hostile to Sussex, had been paid for with (public) money from the so-called Sovereign Grant, as in the case of similar restorations owned by other members of the royal house. However, the dukes had then agreed with the rest of the Windsor dynasty to return the sum at the time of their decision to renounce the status of senior members of the family (with attached official representative duties) to move to America together with the little Archie and aim to acquire greater financial autonomy and freedom of action. Now, thanks to this good remuneration, the Sussexes can be financially independent as they always wanted.
