British Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have launched their first podcast for Spotify. In the 34-minute podcast, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and a string of celebrities look back on the year 2020. The real starring role, however, is for their one-year-old son Archie.

It’s not about their personal life, the ‘Archewell Studio’ podcast clearly aims to bring hope beyond the corona year 2020. “Whatever life brings, believe us when we say that love wins in the end”, says Meghan Markle among others. . The royal couple also give the floor to singer Elton John, presenter James Corden, author Matt Haig and tennis topper Naomi Osaka in the first episode. “All their messages amount to the same thing,” continues Markle. “The power of connection. Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. ”
The lesson we learned in 2020, according to Prince Harry, is “how important it is to take care of each other and how meaningful our friendships are”. “Even if they were physically impossible”.
The podcast’s most remarkable moment, however, comes at the very end, when Archie, Harry and Meghan’s one-year-old son, wishes listeners a “Happy New Year”… with a slight American accent. Curious what they think of that in the United Kingdom.
