For the first time since their partial withdrawal from the British royal family, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have performed together in public. The couple attended an event hosted by JPMorgan Chase in Miami, Buckingham Palace said today. Harry made a speech at the event. JPMorgan Chase is the largest credit institution in the United States. It remained unclear whether Harry was paid for his speech.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan had surprisingly announced at the beginning of the year – and apparently without first consulting Queen Elizabeth II – that they would largely withdraw from their royal obligations and want to stand financially on their own two feet. Thereupon discussions began in the royal house, at the end of which Buckingham Palace announced that Harry and Meghan were no longer entitled “Royal Highness” and that no more public funds would be received.
Since then, the couple and their son Archie have mainly lived in a luxury villa on the Canadian west coast.
