U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris raised $27 million during a fundraiser Sunday in New York, a member of her campaign team said.
This is the largest fundraiser since Harris announced her candidacy for president in November.
Speaking at the fundraiser, held at Cipriani Wall Street, the Democratic candidate proposed tax cuts for the middle class and tax increases for the wealthy and corporations.
Harris said Saturday that she accepted an offer from CNN for a second presidential debate with former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The Democratic candidate said in a post on X that she had agreed to a second debate and asked Trump to participate.
At a rally Saturday in North Carolina, Trump stressed his unwillingness to participate in another debate.
“It’s too late to organize another one (debate, editor’s note). I would, in many ways, but it’s too late. Voting has already started,” he said, referring to early voting that has begun in several states.
The American channel CNN offered a televised debate between Harris and Trump on October 23.
A debate between vice presidential candidates Governor Tim Walz and Senator JD Vance is scheduled for October 1 on CBS.
