Hella and Victor cite a striking moment when Kamala Harris managed to bait Trump into a response. She called his rallies “boring,” and as expected, Trump immediately took the bait. For Trump, whose image often revolves around his ability to draw large, enthusiastic crowds, this remark was painful. He immediately went on the defensive and then wandered off into a bizarre story about Haitians eating pets in Springfield. It was an awkward moment, which was also picked up by the hosts.
However, Harris did not come across as strong on all points. Despite her attacks on Trump, she still struggles to tell a convincing economic story. When asked whether Americans are better off now than they were four years ago, Harris gave a general answer about her background and the ‘struggle’ of the middle class, but did not give a concrete answer. This remains a weak point of hers, especially because voters want clarity on this issue.
