Harley-Davidson releases first e-bikes in the Netherlands

The new Serial 1 e-bikes are available in Dutch Harley Davidson stores from today, the company said. It’s about three models of e-bikes with pedal assistance up to 25 kilometers per hour, including a version with a low instep. The Serial 1 speed pedelec, which can reach a speed of 45 km/h, is not for sale in our country for the time being.

The electric bikes have already been released in the US at the end of 2020. This is done under the new Serial 1 brand, to avoid confusion with the well-known motorcycles. The name Serial 1 refers to ‘Serial Number One’, the nickname for Harley-Davidson’s oldest known motorcycle. The e-bikes also bear the logo of the iconic motorcycle brand.

Three versions

‘s e-bikes Serial 1 were announced in the US at the end of 2020. The bicycles are available in the Netherlands in three versions, each with a mid-mounted motor and a battery that is located in the frame and which is removable. The cheapest model is available from 3499 euros, the most expensive variant with a larger battery costs 4699 euros.


E-bike growth market

Partly due to the corona crisis, the sale of e-bikes last year hard toe. The American company calls the electric bicycle “the perfect solution for commuting and recreational use”.

Harley-Davidson also already sells electric motorcycles.
