They are probably the most extraordinary, craziest basketball team on this planet: the Harlem Globetrotters, a show team from the USA that has its roots in Chicago almost 100 years ago. A team of basketball players who still have incredible technique today and, on top of that, don’t care much about gravity.
So it makes sense that this basketball-crazy team comes to the basketball-crazy city of Hagen, where basketball takes place week after week at the home games of Pro-A league team Phoenix Hagen in the Ischelandhalle, but also in various other halls and leagues is celebrated.
World Tour stops in Hagen on April 13th
On Saturday, April 13th, the Harlem Globetrotters will stop off at the Ischelandhalle on their “World Tour”. Jump ball for the spectacle is at 7 p.m.
The Harlem Globetrotters play several hundred games a year all over the world with changing line-ups – and never lose. The last defeat of the exhibition basketball team dates back to January 5, 1971, when the opponent, the Washington Generals, accidentally hit one shot after the other in a 100:99 victory.
Anyone who buys tickets for one of the April performances is not expecting a conventional game with a competitive character, but rather a spectacle with artistic throws, lightning-fast dribbling and cracking dunks.
