– Nothing is cut in this model. I am starting from the fact that Yleisradio also needs to be cut, when lists are already being made in the welfare areas, which treatments will be given up, Member of Parliament Harry Harkimo says.

Harkimo criticizes the compromise proposal agreed by the Yle working group on Thursday as party political trading.

– Yle is a sacred cow and politicians are afraid of it. I don’t have to fear anything or wait for an invitation to A-studio, when I don’t get invited there anyway.

Liike Nyt, led by Harkimo, was the only party that did not accept the compromise proposal made in the Yle parliamentary working group on Thursday.

In order to seal the Yle cuts, the approval of other parliamentary groups is still needed. By Thursday the 16th, the parliamentary groups must announce whether they accept the cuts and reforms to Yleisradio’s operations proposed by the Yle working group.

In July, the parliamentary groups of the Left Alliance and the Greens rejected the then compromise proposal.

Iltalehti is told that now the approval of these groups for Yle surgeries is considered “very likely”.

A parliamentary agreement is considered big enough if all other parliamentary parties except Liike Nyt accept the Yle agreement.

According to Harkimo, the Yle parliamentary working group showed that Finland does not know how to make decisions.

– I went to the working group to reform and enhance Yleisradio’s operations, but the presentation is only about cutting additional costs, he criticizes.

According to Harkimo, Yle’s costs should be cut by 15–30 percent in the longer term compared to the current level.
