Haris Azhar Asks NGO to Be Examined in Luhut Case: To Be Fair

Lokataru Director Haris Azhar asked Polda Metro Jaya to examine the witnesses presented by him. This is so that the police can be more fair in dealing with cases reported by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

“We on Wednesday morning will submit a number of evidence and the names of witnesses for us to ask to be examined in this investigation process so that more fair,” said Haris at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, Monday (21/3/2022).

Haris Azhar’s lawyer, Nurkholis Hidayat, added that the evidence would corroborate Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidiyanti’s statement regarding the results of research related to Luhut’s alleged involvement in the mining business in Papua.

“We need to attach this detailed explanation with evidence so that the police can investigate immediately. We promise to deliver it on Wednesday. We also ask the police to examine witnesses, for example the heads of the NGO institutions that did the research,” explained Nurkholis.

“That will be a witness who will tell whether or not the scandals happened? The conflict of interest when Pak Luhut was the Acting (Minister) of ESDM at that time and who also built a business coalition will also be explained by witnesses from the leadership of the organization,” he added. Nurkholis.

In addition, Nurkholis also questioned the police handling of Luhut’s report. He alluded to the Circular from Kabareskrim regarding reporting cases of economic crimes and corruption that should be prioritized.

“So we’ll see if the police are balanced enough. fair, is not discriminatory to check. We know there is SE Kabareskrim If a citizen reports an economic scandal, corruption and gratification, it must take precedence, not the person who reports or discloses it,” explained Nurkholis.

He also alluded to one of Jokowi’s Presidential Regulations which included giving reward to citizens who uncover cases of economic crimes.

“Pak Jokowi has a regulation issuing a presidential regulation, people who reveal an economic crime can get Rp 100 million rewardnot to be imprisoned,” concluded Nurkholis.
