Hardship payments: Cantons have paid out half a billion francs | Switzerland

SWITZERLAND [NEWS SERVICE] ⋅ Companies hit by Corona have so far paid out around 500 million francs. This was the result of a federal survey. However, more than half of the hardship applications are still pending.

(of) The cantons spoke for the majority of the funds in favor of A-fonds-perdu contributions, as the Federal Council wrote in an answer published on Monday in the National Council’s Question Time. By the end of February, the cantons had received 31,000 cases of hardship. The authorities have dealt with and approved 14,000 of them. They have already pledged a further CHF 200 million. Detailed figures – broken down by canton, for example – are promised by the federal government.

Parliament approved financial support for hardship last autumn. The focus was primarily on companies in the event or travel industry, showmen and tourism companies.
