Determined to put an end to indecency at Field of Mars states the Regional Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias as it seems for the government regional governor the biggest problem is illegal trade and not the degradation of the park and the pressures it receives from commercial interests within it or regionally.

“Leaving behind us the opacity practices of the past, the Areos Field returns as a sports and entertainment area for the residents of Kypseli, Gyzi, Victoria and Exarchia and for visitors to the area,” writes N. Hardalias.

“In the coming months, in fact, we will work in consultation with the residents of the area, so as to create, starting from Christmas 2024, conditions for the organization of festive villages that can host festive events for a few days – free for young and old – to the standards and with the aesthetics of festive theme parks abroad. And always under the responsibility of the services of the Attica Region.”
