Hard Water Sprinklers to the Baswedan Novel, Rahmat Kadir Sentenced to 2 Years Bui

The accused sprinklers hard water to Baswedan’s novel, Rahmat Kadir, sentenced to 2 years in prison. Rahmat was adjudicated by a judge guilty of severe torture of the novel by splashing hard water.

“Prosecute, stated that the defendant Rahmat Kadir Maulente was proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing criminal acts and planned in advance with severe injuries,” said chief judge Djuyamto while reading the verdict in the North Jakarta District Court, Jalan Gajah Mada, North Petojo, North Jakarta, Thursday (07/16/2020).

“Dropping the prison sentence against the defendant with a criminal sentence for 2 years,” he added.

Rahmat is believed to be guilty of violating Article 353 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

Previously, the prosecutor demanded Rahmat Kadir be sentenced to 1 year in prison. The prosecutor considered that Rahmat was proven to have severely persecuted the novel by splashing hard water.

The hard watering case against this novel occurred on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 03.00 WIB, Ronny and Rahmat rushed to the residence of the Novel Baswedan in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. Ronny rides a motorcycle, while Rahmat sits behind him.

They stopped around the Al-Ikhsan Mosque in the compound while watching everyone coming out of the mosque. When he saw the Baswedan Novel, Rahmat poured the liquid mixture of sulfuric acid into a mug glass, and poured the liquid into Novel’s face.

Because of that incident, Baswedan’s novel suffered serious injuries. The wound was said by the prosecutors to have blocked Novel Baswedan in carrying out his work as an investigator at the KPK.
