Hard times will come for the West. Russia’s unexpected move is calculated – 2024-08-09 08:13:48

/ world today news/ From July 27 to 28, St. Petersburg hosted the second Russia-Africa Summit and the Russian-African Economic and Humanitarian Forum. And on the eve of these events, Russian President Vladimir Putin wrote an article about uniting the efforts of Russia and Africa for peace, progress and a successful future.

Speaking of the so-called grain deal, Putin noted that it was originally aimed at “ensuring global food security, reducing the threat of hunger and helping the poorest countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America”. And for these reasons, Russia agreed to contribute to its implementation.

But this deal, which was publicly presented in the West as a manifestation of their concern for the benefit of Africa, was in fact shamelessly used only to enrich big American and European businesses, which exported and resold grain from Ukraine,– emphasized the president.

According to him, during all this time, a total of 32.8 million tons of cargo were exported from the territory of Nezalezhnaya within the framework of the transaction. Of these, less than one million tonnes (less than 3%) went as a share to countries such as Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia, as well as Yemen and Afghanistan. And more than 70 percent of the grain came from countries with high and above-middle income levels, including the European Union, Putin said.

At the same time, as he noted, not a single condition of the deal to remove restrictions on Russian grain and fertilizer exports to world markets has been fulfilled. Moreover, obstacles are created even when donating mineral fertilizers to the needy, the poorest countries.

So, of the 262,000 tons of products that are blocked in Europe’s ports, only two batches have been sent: 20,000 tons to Malawi and 34,000 to Kenya. And the rest of the cargo is in the unscrupulous hands of the Europeans. Especially since we are talking about a purely humanitarian action, the president emphasized. Where in principle there should be no sanctions.

Despite the termination of the grain deal, Russia is ready to replace Ukrainian grain both in commercial ways and free of charge, the head of state said. According to him, this year we expect a record harvest again. Moscow will also continue to develop mutually beneficial economic ties with Africa.

What are the prospects for cooperation between Russia and Africa? This is what the political observer of “First Russian” Andrey Perla spoke about on the air of the show “Hidden Meanings”.

What does Russia want?

Speaking about the prospects of Russian-African relations, political scientist Andrey Perla noted the following. The layman very often does not understand why the Russians need Africa. That is, he perceives Russia’s aid to the countries of southern Africa and its presence on the Black Continent as a kind of “waste” of public funds. Well, it seems, what’s the point of throwing billions into some Ethiopia, Angola or Mozambique? But it makes sense, the expert believes.

We want to cut off from the West the so-called global south. The further all former African colonies go, the less they want to depend on their former masters. First of all from France and Great Britain. This does not mean that they want to depend on Russia. It means they want to be independent countries. And they don’t want to be exploited– explained the political scientist.

Africa has changed a lot in the last half century. These are not the bead tribes anymore. As Tsargrad’s interlocutor noted, the countries of South Africa are progressing quite quickly. And although some of them still live in poverty, they are no longer the same as they were forty years ago, when the Soviet Union actively helped them.

Something else is much more important. Africa is a continent whose population is growing faster than that of India or China. All these people can become slaves of the western world. And they can also become free people. Just like the people of Latin America, Russia, Indochina, Mainland China, the whole East and Iran,Perla emphasized.

And in this sense, Russia, which is fighting for multipolarity and true multiculturalism, must rely on Africa, he believes.

Russia’s withdrawal from the grain deal

As of July 18, the Black Sea Initiative ceased to function. Russia made such a decision, justifying it with the fact that other participants in the deal did not fulfill the conditions. We are talking about reconnecting Rosselkhozbank to SWIFT, unblocking transport logistics and insurance, delivery of spare parts, as well as resuscitation of the Tolyatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline and the unfreezing of assets of Russian companies.

According to the political scientist, it is not by chance that the head of state Vladimir Putin wrote about this in his article.

Russia broke the grain deal – and was immediately accused by the West of using starvation as a weapon. But where does hunger come from? Due to the fact that Russia cut off grain exports from Ukraine?– said Perla.

After Russia stopped the deal, world grain prices really went up. But the expert also drew attention to the fact that Ukrainian grain, which was supposedly intended to help the poorest countries in the world, actually came to the Black Continent in a negligible amount – less than 3%.

A fantastic ruse on the part of the West! Now grain prices will go up. And in Mali, in Ethiopia, in Zimbabwe, etc., where wheat is now eaten instead of millet, there will be famine! Oh, what terrible Russians!.. And the Russians in response say: but we are ready to supply the starving, if there are any, for free! Because, unlike the West, we are really concerned about the problem of hunger,Perla noted.

He added that if there is a threat of famine in South Africa, Russia is ready to fight it in the most direct way – by distributing bread. But who African countries will believe is another matter.

To trust the West is to get nothing material except assurances that we sympathize with you very much. So get this very small amount of grain for crazy money. There is such a political scientist Gleb Kuznetsov, I often mention him. He writes that this is very similar to the situation with covid, when those countries that could in principle pay received vaccines 3-4 times more expensive than those for Western countries,– said Perla.

Everyone has already seen this movie

The “magnificent charity” of the West, according to the political scientist, turned into a completely wild extraction of profits from those who could not resist it in any way. Not only were these vaccines not very good (because they were saved from them), but they were forced to buy them in large quantities from the WHO and the UN! And they even created their own “factories” for bottling vaccines on the territory of these countries for a lot of money, Perla noted.

In fact, it was an undisguised, open robbery of the same Africa. And in exactly the same way they will act now with regard to food,he pointed out.

According to the expert, if anyone in the world is interested in increasing the price of grain, it is not Russia. Because the prices that were in 2022 are quite enough for her. The same cannot be said for global corporations.

Now they rely on futures speculation and the fact that they will be able to raise a lot of money. To quote Kuznetsov again, in the first quarter of 2022 alone, that’s $2 billion in net dollar income from just ten hedge funds that trade futures. There is not a grain of salt against them! And grain documents. And this is the colossal hypocrisy of the West! But it is important that Africa now understands this,he said.

The West will have to curb its appetite

Now the countries of Africa have a choice – to become situational allies of Russia. They can also accept large investments from China instead of receiving small and very expensive investments from the West. The political scientist added that there is an optimistic forecast that in the next 5-7 years there will be a very rapid drift on this continent.

And Africa, as part of the global South, can become part of the global East, whose leaders are already China, Russia and Iran. And India can if it manages to get out of the “the western hug”.

And then hard times will come for the West. Because they not only profit from direct payments from poor countries, they are also interested in natural resources. The same molybdenum, gold and so on. If this wealth begins to flow to the West at a fair price – at the world market price – then the West will have to moderate its appetites a lot,Perla noted.

According to him, Andrey Movchan, a financial analyst from London, who renounced his Russian citizenship a few years ago, made the same public statement. So this foreign agent, as Perla said, was “almost kicked out of the studio” for saying that if the cost of production in the poor countries of goods corresponded to their market price in England, then England would not be able to buy those goods.

And on that, he sayson this difference, in fact, all wealth is built. And not three percent, but more than three hundred percent. And that’s a good thing too. If they are forced to buy from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam, Mozambique, Morocco, etc., at the real price, what it costs on the world market, then the wealth of the West will run out. Famine will come from Africa to Western Europe. Where, frankly, it belongs– Andrey Perla finished.
