Hard Rock International, in support of the Hard Rock Heals Foundation, the charitable arm of Hard Rock, has announced that its 23. he annual PINKTOBER campaign has raised over $1 million for breast cancer research. Throughout the month of October, Hard Rock ® Cafes, hotels, casinos and Rock Shop ® hosted fundraising events including limited edition menu items, specially designed merchandise, a songwriting contest and more again, with proceeds benefiting national and local breast cancer charities. This is the second year in a row that Hard Rock has surpassed its own record, making it the individual record Hard Rock has raised since PINKTOBER’s inception in 2000 and adding to the millions of dollars given throughout the campaign’s history.
“PINKTOBER is one of the most anticipated and celebrated times of the year at Hard Rock. At this PINKTOBER, Hard Rock Cafe has partnered with world-renowned French chef and breast cancer survivor Dominique Crenn to create a limited-time menu item of Baja-style shrimp tacos, available exclusively at Hard Rock Cafe locations. ‘Hard Rock Cafes around the world. Hard Rock Hotels held a Breast Cancer Awareness Song Contest in partnership with David Correy, an internationally recognized recording artist who lost his mother to cancer in 2020. Along with Hard Rock, Correy encouraged fans to write for a cause by sharing your lyrics as a vessel to honor the fighters, survivors and loved ones who supported you for PINKTOBER. The grand prize winner, a survivor of stage IV metastatic breast cancer, not only had her lyrics featured in David Correy’s PINKTOBER anthem, but she was also awarded a $5,000 grand prize, a $5,000 donation to the ‘American Cancer Society on your behalf and a 4 night night stay. – Hard Rock hotel voucher included. Hard Rock Hotels also offered guests pink-themed rooms, special spa treatments and co-branded pink Fender guitars as part of the Sound of Your Stay® program, where guests could try out the guitars. and make donations.
Hard Rock Digital has supported PINKTOBER with activations on the Hard Rock Sportsbook app and the free “Hard Rock Dice Party” mobile game. Additionally, throughout the month of October, Seminole Gaming customers donated the remainder of their game coupons redeemed at any Everi full-service kiosk on the casino floor.
Locally, various Hard Rock properties around the world have supported community-led events:
- Guests at Hard Rock Cafe Orlando were given a pink paper ribbon with a QR code linked to the Women Who Rock website and encouraged to write a message of hope or love.
- Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol has dedicated one of their Blackjack tables on the casino floor to PINKTOBER, coloring the felt on the table pink and donating a percentage of the profits from the table to the campaign. They also participated in the American Cancer Society Southeast Region’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign.
- The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City participated in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event and are two of the American Cancer Society’s top two fundraising teams in the country .
- Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana sponsored a local Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event with a $25,000 donation.
- The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain hosted a sold-out benefit gala in support of the Rideout Adventist Cancer Center of Marysville, as well as a charity golf tournament at Catta Verder.
- Seminole Classic Casino hosted the American Cancer Society Season Opening Event and Broward County’s Real Men Wear Pink Reveal event at its Hollywood Hall.
- Hard Rock Hotel Maldives participated in the Pink Fun Run and hosted an exclusive Pink Tie Dye event at the Roxity Kids Club™ and Teen Spirit ® Club in support of the Maldives Cancer Society.
- The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City held a pink pumpkin contest in the back of the house and displayed neon pink electric wings.
- Music events and other fundraising efforts were hosted by multiple properties, as well as the generosity of our Hard Rock team members around the world, many of whom have donated voluntarily to the cause.
