New York Governor Cuomo remains under pressure after the harassment charges against him. For the first time, US President Biden and Nancy Pelosi also commented on the case. However, both of them refrained from appeals to resign.
US Democratic leaders have distanced themselves from New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. The governor, who has come under pressure because of allegations of harassment, has to go “to see whether he can still govern effectively,” said the chairman of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, on TV channel ABC. Like US President Joe Biden, however, she waived a demand for resignation.
The women’s allegations against Cuomo must be taken seriously, said Pelosi, who, like Cuomo, is a member of the Democratic Party. Your allegations are “credible and serious”. At the same time, she called for the results of the investigations to be awaited.
A little later, Biden argued similarly. “I think the investigation is ongoing and we should see what it brings us,” said the Democratic president in the White House garden when asked by a reporter whether Cuomo should resign. It was the first time that Biden was so explicit about the affair. Previously, he had stated through his spokeswoman that he supported the investigation.

Six women have made harassment charges against Cuomo since late February. New York Attorney General Letitia James is currently investigating the serious allegations. The allegations are about physical and verbal harassment.

Another charge against Cuomo
Cuomo has been New York State Governor for ten years. The judiciary committee of the regional parliament opened an investigation on Thursday that could lead to an official proceedings against Cuomo.
In addition to the allegation of sexual harassment, there is another one against Cuomo: He is said to have manipulated the record of corona deaths in New York – in order not to offer the then Trump administration a target. Cuomo’s closest advisor has already admitted this in multiple media.
