They did it ! Thanks to a season covered and the defeat of Manchester City against Chelsea on Thursday evening, the obvious has been confirmed: the Liverpool Reds won the Premier League. A superb accomplishment that will delight Steve Kerr, fan of the Mersey club, but also … LeBron James.
Because unlike the Warriors coach, the King is not just a fan. In April 2011, he had indeed bought 2% (against about 6.5 million dollars) of the franchise via his company Lrmr, and therefore happens to be a shareholder! His marketing company had allied with Fenway Sports Partners. The owner decided to buy the Reds in 2010 for $ 477 million.
An investment that could go from 6.5 million to 33 million dollars!
According to Forbes, Liverpool is estimated to be around $ 2 billion today, and the club’s value has skyrocketed in recent years. LeBron James’ investment could thus drop from 6.5 million to 32 or even 33 million dollars!
In this perspective, the title is obviously good news for the influence of the Reds, and James did not fail to celebrate this trophy which will bring him some tickets:
According to the King, this love of Liverpool is not only financial. On the sidelines of a visit to the training center, he explained why he had flashed on the Reds: “It is simply the passion and loyalty of these fans.
