Happy message – Hurtig’s remake: “Means a lot” – Dagens Nyheter

Hurtig’s last attempt on the football field was a brief appearance in Sweden’s Nations League match against Switzerland on December 1 last year. After that, the striker suffered an injury and in April the news came from club team Arsenal that she would miss the rest of the season for personal reasons.

But now the 29-year-old looks set for a comeback. Hurtig is in Arsenal’s squad for the Champions League game at home to Norway’s Vålerengen on Wednesday.

Lina Hurtig is back in the team, which is good news. She has been working hard for a long time, said Arsenal head coach Renée Slegers at the pre-match press conference.

Slegers has a temporary Sweden’s Jonas Eidevall, who left the coaching job on Tuesday after a poor start to the season for Arsenal, took over the lead. Slegers is happy to have Hurtig back in the team.

– He is a player with very good special qualities that can help our team without a doubt. And of course it means a lot to her personally to be back after a long time off the field, says Slegers.

– She has been training for a while now, but we feel that the right time (to return) is approaching. She is ready.
