One of the memorial concerts Tribute to Karel Gott on Sunday evening dominated the O2 arena. Many celebrities from the world of Czech show business took part in the event. The master and his daughter Charlotte sang to the master together with Dara Rolins. Charlotte sent him the bells of happiness to heaven symbolically for Father’s Day.
A Czech music festival took place on Sunday. Over 40 important faces of show business will gather on one stage in two days (Sunday and Monday). The first evening of remembrance was one of the last projects that Karel Gott wished for his wife Ivana to complete.
“I am glad that this husband’s wish was also fulfilled. After the successful publication of his autobiography My Journey for Happiness and the premiere of the feature documentary Karel, this concert is another of the projects he sketched during his lifetime. And we try our best to fill, “said Ivana Gottová about the concert.
The concert began with the song Lady Carneval, sung together by Monika Bagárová, Dasha, Markéta Konvičková and Kateřina Marie Fialová. The whole evening was in the spirit of Gott’s immortal hits, and one of them was sung by his older daughter Charlotte Ella Gott.
Charlotte sang Bells of Happiness in a moving duet with Dara Rolins. She sang Gott’s part, while his daughter sang Dar’s part. The concert was originally supposed to take place at the end of 2020, but due to the pandemic it was postponed until this date. Thanks to this shift, however, it was possible for Charlotte to be able to sing to Gott at Father’s Day at the concert. The song Hearts Will Not Go Out, which Charlotte and Dad sang, was also heard. However, the song at the concert was sung by the author of the hit Richard Krajčo.
At the end, everyone performed the song Go for Happiness, then the Master’s photos appeared on the screen. Lucie Bílá, Ondřej Gregor Brzobohatý, Štefan Margita, Monika Absolonová, Bára Basiková, Michal David, Felix Slováček, Jitka Zelenková, Petr Kolář, Leoš Mareš, Tereza Mašková, Olga Lounová and many others also sang at the concert.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who have come with us to remember my husband, our beloved Karel. and the unforgettable atmosphere you have all created, “added Ivana Gottová. During the evening, she donated a million proceeds from the concert to support research in the field of lymph and leukemia.
