Nikolaus Emmerling is thoughtful: “70 years when you think about everything we did there.” For example, he and his wife raised four sons together, expanded a house and lived to the age of 93. On May 1st, the couple celebrated their marriage of grace. With the family they went to the Würzburger Hofbräu, where there was pork knuckle to celebrate the day. “My husband is a knuckle eater,” explains Margarete Emmerling. “It was good again,” he confirms. The couple sits next to each other in their kitchen in Versbach.
