Hapoel Tel Aviv officially confirmed today (Saturday) that it has reached an understanding with the Jewish billionaire Edmond Safra regarding the purchase of the controlling interest in the club. Today, the person in control is David Mintzberg, the head of Hapoel Tel Aviv’s investor group, who manages the negotiations with Safra and reportedly exchanged drafts of the memorandum of understanding with him until the two signed it yesterday.
“The mutual goal of the parties is to engage in a process with full cooperation, which will lead to a final conclusion after further discussions and due diligence,” reads the joint official announcement of Hapoel Tel Aviv and Safra, “both parties are committed to working together to ensure a bright future for the team’s fans, to preserve the club’s values and promote Investments in Israel through sports”.
