Despite the Corona crisis, FC Hansa Rostock sees itself financially on the right path. The third division soccer team has now informed its members about the details in a message. “We got out of the crisis last season well,” said Hansa CEO Robert Marien. He is also cautiously optimistic that the current season can be survived without having to take out loans. “We definitely want to avoid that,” said Marien. Compared to the original plan, however, sales will shrink, probably by a good three million euros.
Team waives part of the salary
In the Corona crisis, the association relies above all on promised support from the federal government as well as its own merchandise campaigns and cost-cutting measures. For example, the team and board of directors forego part of their salary. In addition, significantly less money was invested in the squad than originally planned. Marien hopes that the association’s financial cushion will be enough to get through the crisis without additional credit.
