In recent days, the extreme weather “Hans” has ravaged several places in the country. Large amounts of rainfall have created dangerous situations with landslides and floods, where, among other things, residents in areas in Viken and Innlandet have had to be evacuated during the last 24 hours.
During a briefing meeting with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Minister of Justice and Emergency Emilie Enger Mehl on Wednesday evening, NVE stated that they fear the risk of flooding in these lakes most in the future: Randsfjorden, Sperillen, Tyrifjorden, Krøderen and Øyeren.

Closes E134
E134 between Hokksund and Mjøndalen is closed due to flooding. During the next 24 hours, the road will probably be closed up to Drammen.
– The water from the Drammen river is creeping upwards and is the reason why we now have to close the E134 between Hokksund and Mjøndalen in the first instance, says Lasse Berge in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
Berge adds that it is likely that they will also close E134 all the way to Drammen within the next 24 hours. There is a detour sign via county road 283.
– Biggest ever
In addition, county road 2708, Drammensveien in Mjøndalen under the railway at Shell is also closed.
On Thursday morning, county road 290 Soknedalsveien at Hønefoss station was also closed due to flooding.

The extreme weather has created chaos on Norwegian roads and public transport in the south. All main roads between Oslo and Trondheim are closed, write State Highways Authority.

Drop the cabin
On Wednesday, the Road Traffic Center recommended people to drop the cabin trip at the weekend.
– They should put that plan on hold. It is not the time to travel to the cabin in the mountains. If they are going to travel at all, they must seek information about the places they are going, says Cato Løkken, department director for operations and maintenance, to Aftenposten.
Nor is the train a good alternative method of transport to get to the cabin. The Hovedbanen, Dovrebanen and Bergensbanen are all closed on various sections.
– We have to get control of how much water there is under the rails. We have to be sure that the ground is firm before we can let trains over. Safety comes before everything, says Bane Nor’s acting CEO, Henning Bråtebæk.
