Hanoi (VNA) – Baccalaureate students in Hanoi will return to school on December 6 after a long period of online learning
due to the impacts of COVID-19.
According to a document signed by the vice chairman of the city’s People’s Committee, Chu Xuan Dung, the committee agreed with the municipal Education and Training Department’s proposal to allow the resumption of direct learning by students from schools (from 10th to 10th twelfth grade), vocational training facilities and education centers in 30 districts with no new COVID-19 infections for two weeks prior to November 30.
The students grades one through eight will continue to learn online and preschoolers will stay home.
Schools are requested to implement pandemic prevention and control measures in accordance with the guidelines given by the Departments of Health and Education and Training. Students will only attend direct classes for half a day. The operation of school canteens is not allowed.
The district and city level COVID-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committees will consider adjustments and suspension of direct learning if necessary.
The results of the plan will be reported to the municipal People’s Committee to serve as the basis for the design of a future roadmap for the safe return of students to school.
In addition, a flexible combination of online and direct learning will be implemented in localities with different levels of pandemic.
Previously, on November 8, the capital allowed ninth-grade students in 18 districts and cities to return to schools for face-to-face classes.
