Hannover Scorpions lose connection to the top

Reading time: approx. 5 minutes

Nothing new at the top. Tilburg and Halle won their encounters in the Oberliga Nord, but are now six points ahead of the Hannover Scorpions, who lost an embarrassing point against Krefeld.

Beneficiary of this weakness of the local rival Indians, who came within two points of the Mellendorfer. The third member of the Leipzig chase trio suffered a surprising home defeat against the Hamburg Crocodiles and now sees this opponent in the rearview mirror. In a direct duel with Erfurt, the Hernians were able to end their sporting crisis and behind the Miners, Herford overtook Erfurt. Fortunately for Rostock, which currently occupies the last pre-play-off place, all pursuers lost their games, so nothing changed. Only Krefeld now has the same 13 points as the Essen and Limburgers after winning points with the Scorpions.

Icefighters Leipzig – Crocodiles Hamburg 1:4 (0:3, 0:1, 1:0)

A deserved success for the Hamburgers, who had their best strength in Sam Verelst and Adam Domogalla, who each scored three points. For the disappointing Leipzig, only Tim Heyter scored in the 51st minute of the game, when the game had long been decided.

Goals: 0: 1 (07:49) Jan Tramm (Verelst, Domogalla), 0: 2 (09:58) Sam Verelst (Domogalla, Schaludek 5-4), 0: 3 (13:23) Sam Verelst (Domogalla, Gauch), 0: 4 (21:06) Harrison Reed (Martens, Reimer 5-4), 1: 4 (50:16) Tim Heyter (Mocking, Hon).

Herford EV – Hammer Eisbären 6: 4 (2: 0, 2: 2, 2: 2)

A well-deserved success for the Herford team, who took the lead with two goals in the first third and were able to carry this lead through to the end. Outstanding, as in the last few weeks, the Herford trio Elvis Biezaijs, Rustams Begovs and above all Dennis Schütt. The latter achieved four assists, so that Schütt improved to 61st place on the scorer list. Among the polar bears that never gave up, the best marks were earned alongside keeper Marvin Nickel (86.7 percent catch quota), Michal Spacek, newcomer Artyom Alexandrov and Samuel Dotter.

Goals: 1: 0 (01:29) Björn Bombis (Schütt, Reckers), 2: 0 (10:58) Rustams Begovs (Biezaijs, Stocker), 2: 1 (23:34) Thomas Lichnovsky (Renke, Ortwein), 3: 1 (26:45) Ralf Rinke (Begovs, Biezaijs), 3: 2 (32:16) Michal Spacek (Alexandrov, Dotter 5-4), 4: 2 (34:47) Marius Garten (Bombis, Schütt 5 -4), 5: 2 (40:55) Elvis Biezaijs (Rinke, Schütt), 6: 2 (54:56) Björn Bombis (Schütt, Garten), 6: 3 (57:16) Artyom Alexandrov (Dotter, Spacek ), 6: 4 (58:51) Christopher Schutz (boy, Spacek).

Mosquitoes Eating – Saale Bulls Hall 1: 3 (1: 0, 0: 1, 0: 2)

Despite the renewed home defeat, the mosquitoes showed a courageous game, brought the high favorites and second in the table into trouble several times and only gave up in the final minute when Patrick Schmid scored the third goal for the Bulls. Mike Glemser had previously shot the mosquitoes 1-0 up. Even after the equalization by Joonas Niemelä, the game was by no means one-sided, thanks to the Essenes, and only the 2-1 lead of the guests by Vihavainen put the Halleers on the winning track.

Tore: 1: 0 (05:37) Mike Glemser (Lamers, Kreuzmann), 1: 1 (29:16) Joonas Niemelä (Halbauer, Grosse), 1: 2 (41:00) Tatu Vihavainen (Valasek, May), 1: 3 (59:11) Patrick Schmid (Pfennings, Stas ENG).

Herner EV Miners – Black Dragons Erfurt 5:1 (0:0, 3:1, 2:0)

After initial problems, the Herner seem to have found a way out of their sporting crisis. In the end, there was a clear 5: 1 success against the direct point neighbor Erfurt, with three quick successive goals in the middle third being responsible. This lead gave the Hernern security and in the last third the Miners dominated the encounter. In the end, however, there were still slightly unsportsmanlike sounds, when two Hernians and two Erfurters had a violent exchange of blows and the Erfurt Enzo Herrschaft even bargained for a five plus playing time.

Tore: 1: 0 (24:42) Marcus Marsall (Fominych, Liesegang 5-4), 2: 0 (26:17) Kevin Orendorz (Tegkaev, Marsall 5-3), 3: 0 (28:14) Nils Liesegang (Fominych, Marsall), 3: 1 (29:04) Arnold Bosas (Beach, Wunderlich), 4: 1 (48:25) Benjamin Hüfner (Peleikis, Moberg 5-4), 5: 1 (55:14) Denis Fominych (Liesegang, Ackers).

Hanover Indians – EG Diez-Limburg 10:4 (3:1, 5:1, 2:2)

1,769 spectators celebrated a well-deserved success of their Indians, who apparently had digested the 0: 5 defeat in Hamburg on Friday. The home side’s power play, who were able to use all three opportunities to score, was surprisingly impressive. The Diezer only had something of the game in the first ten minutes when they had an outnumbered game but couldn’t use it. In the ninth minute, Thomas Pape (Indians) and Paul König (Limburg) met for a fight that brought both five minutes. During this time, the Indians met twice through Joe Kiss and then the game was over for the guests. The goalkeeper change from Tim Stenger to the ex-Indian Louis Busch in the 22nd minute of the game did not really help Limburg. The best players among the Indians were Kyle Gibbons with six points, Nico Turnwald (5 points) as well as Sebastian Christmann and Parker Bowles with three points each. The guests only liked the contingent players, with Kyle Brothers involved in every goal.

Tore: 1:0 (08:53) Joe Kiss (Bacek, Gibbons), 2:0 (11:18) Joe Kiss (Palka, Gibbons 5-4), 3:0 (18:05) Nico Turnwald (Palka, Gibbons), 3:1 (19:02) Kyle Brothers (Matheson, Lavallee), 4:1 (20:42) Nico Turnwald (Gibbons, Selivanov), 5:1 (21:24) Kyle Gibbons (Bowles, Turnwald), 5:2 (26:53) Kyle Brothers (Lavallee), 6:2 (27:18) Mike Mieszkowski (Christmann), 7:2 (32:36) Kyle Gibbons (Bowles, Aichinger), 8:2 (35:30) Niko Selivanov (Bacek, Turnwald), 8:3 (47:05) Kyle Brothers (Matheson, Lavallee), 9:3 (52:08) Nick Aichinger (Christmann, Mieszkowski), 9:4 (52:30) Kevin Lavallee (Brothers, Matheson), 10:4 (56:46) Sebastian Christmann (Bowles, Turnwald 5-4).

Hannover Scorpions – Krefelder EV U23 4: 3 (0: 1, 1: 1, 2: 1, 1: 0) nV

The Scorpions slid past the penultimate in the table by an embarrassment. The 559 spectators present were not exactly amused by the performance of their team, because despite a shooting ratio of 61:32 in the end, the favorite, who won 11: 1 in Krefeld a week ago, only got two measly points . In any case, the Krefeld team were able to leave the Mellendorfer ice rink with their heads held high, because until three minutes before the end they were still 3-2 before Christoph Kabitzky and Jan Pietsch turned the game. It was also annoying for the hosts that Defender Andre Reiss allowed himself to be carried away to a gang check, which earned him a fiver. In the following power play, Mahkovec scored 3-2 for KEV before the aforementioned Scorpions players turned the game around. Interesting: Ansgar Preuss (90.6 percent catch quota) was in goal with the Scorpions for the entire season and Patrick Klein shone with the Krefeld team (93.4 percent catch quota).

Goals: 0: 1 (05:17) Florian Maierhofer (Schuster, Mahkovec), 0: 2 (22:59) Jan Theuerkauf (Nix, Esch), 1: 2 (29:06) Julian Airich (Just, Hammond 5- 4), 2: 2 (42:58) Robin Thomson (Knaub, Koziol), 2: 3 (55:56) Marcel Mahkovec (Dreschmann, Grygiel 5-4), 3: 3 (57:59) Christoph Kabitzky (Koziol , Thomson), 4: 3 (64:40) Jan Pietsch (Just, Valery Trabucco).

Rostock Piranhas – Tilburg Trappers 3:4 (2:0, 0:3, 1:1)

That was close. The Dutch leaders had to acknowledge the current strength of the piranhas in the first third and were 2-0 down. In the middle third, a six-minute section was enough for the guests to take the lead and in the last third, mere administrative work was not enough. With a lot of luck, the Trappers made it across the finish line and got three lucky points. Player of the day was the Tilburg Canadian Brett Bulmer, who was involved in all four goals of his team.

Goals: 1: 0 (01:03) Gianluca Balla (Koziol, Pauker), 2: 0 (12:18) August von Ungern-Sternberg (Maylan, Ledlin), 2: 1 (32:30) Raymond van der Schuit ( Bulmer, Hessels), 2: 2 (34:51) Ties van Soest (Bastings, Bulmer), 2: 3 (38:54) Brett Bulmer (Hermens, Bastings), 3: 3 (40:09) Mark Ledlin (from Ungern-Sternberg, Dudas), 3: 4 (42:12) Max Hermens (Bulmer, Vogelaar).
