Actress Hannah Hoekstra will play a leading role in the new film Love in a Bottle, by director Paula van der Oest. The director has previously made films such as Lucia from B. in Tonio.
The maker invented and developed the film during the first lockdown period.
“I had to phone a lot with two actors and then I came up with the idea to do something with that,” says Van der Oest in an interview with the magazine Plot. “It’s a love story about two people, played by Hannah Hoekstra and the English actor James Krishna Floyd, who are both in their own apartment during corona. One in Amsterdam and the other in London.”
The film was shot in two sets, 500 meters apart. “We filmed it simultaneously, with two crews and ten shooting days. I’m still working on the sound mix.” Distributor September Film goes Love in a Bottle release in theaters next year.
Van der Oest recently also wrote the war epos The Battle of the Scheldt, which can be seen in Dutch cinemas from 17 December. The film tells about three young people who become involved in the battle for Zeeland in the autumn of 1944. The leading roles in the most expensive Dutch production in fifteen years are played by Gijs Blom, Susan Radder and Jamie Flatters.
