Hannah Brandt’s overtime goal leads Boston to victory over New York in LPHF matchup

Hannah Brandt scored her second goal of the game in overtime to give Boston a 3-2 victory over New York on Sunday in LPHF play.

Brandt scored twice on passes from Jamie Lee Rattray. She opened the scoring just 3:57 into the first period before scoring the winning goal 1:48 into overtime.

Sophie Shirley was the other scorer for Boston, tying the game in the third after New York took the lead on goals from Élizabeth Giguère and Jamie Bourbonnais 2:07 apart late in the second.

For Quebecer Giguère, this is her first goal in the LPHF.

New York goalie Abigail Levy kept her team in the game with a 43-save performance.

Her opposite number Emma Soderberg made 21 saves to earn the victory.

New York suffers a fifth straight defeat after having a three-game winning streak.
