If everyone is connected worldwide, on TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube .., the scum are eager to join in.
So-called content moderators try to keep the internet clean. An estimated 100,000 do this dirty work and delete films and texts by lunatics, criminals and racists so that nobody can see them.
They have a few seconds to make their decision, which is not always subject to fixed rules. They have to make decisions hundreds of times a day. You take the job because there’s a little more money for it than on the phone in the call center.
Video 2 will not be deleted. It shouldn’t be associated with Video 1, which of course will be deleted.
Holocaust denial is not a criminal offense in all countries, so how is it dealt with on international platforms?
“This post has been removed” is the novel by Dutch author Hanna Bervoets (photo above). It may come as a surprise at first that she tells so little “live” about work and more about a guinea pig and lesbian love.
It would be more than surprising to read more about it. What Bervoets mentions – the kittens, for example, or the girl who cuts her body open – is enough to despair of humanity.
That is sustainability. The novel has a long lasting effect. The way of writing is unspectacular. She doesn’t steal the subject’s attention.
The fact that a friendly guinea pig takes center stage and lesbian love comes to the fore only goes to show that a presenter is trying not to take what she sees on the screen into her life.
Unfortunately doesn’t work.
Even after work, the colleagues sit in the tavern with a lot of alcohol and swear, as they have heard and read in the hate speech.
Just “for fun”.
But then it turns out that the first-person narrator’s girlfriend thinks the gas chambers are an invention. That’s the end of the relationship then.
In contrast, it’s just ridiculous for content moderators to get infected by the idea that the earth is flat. Space doesn’t exist for flat-worlders, the moon landing – just a bad fake.
Such YouTube videos will not be deleted.
