Hangzhou Spark Defeats Dallas Fuel in Overwatch League Season 2 Week 2 East Day 1 Match

On May 5, at WDG eSports Studio in Chungmuro, Seoul, the Overwatch League 2023 season 2nd week, Day 1 East game was held. From the first game, the match that gathered expectations was concluded. It was a confrontation between the Dallas Fuel and the Hangzhou Spark, which featured a large number of Korean and Chinese Overwatch players. Hangzhou won 3:1 thanks to the combination of one level and the performance of the dealers overcoming the crisis. The second game was a match between the losing teams in the opening match. This time, Seoul Infernal reported their first win of the season with a 3-0 win over Shanghai Dragons.

Hangzhou won from the start of the first set of game 1. He countered Dallas’ attack with 1 death and won 1R 100:0. Dallas made up for one round by maintaining a dive composition with Junker Queen at the forefront without changing the hero composition. In response, Hangzhou took out Reinhardt-May in the 3rd round and won the first set with an advantage in the melee.

Dallas, too, did not collapse as easily as it did in the opening game. They blocked the opponent with 1 point, and they scored 2 points. In a situation where it seemed impossible to score, ‘Sparkle’ Tracer’s performance stood out and he was able to push the cargo. Conversely, Dallas won with a strategy that prevented Hangzhou from attaching to cargo. While fighting on the second floor of the building, ‘Edison’s’ Sombra pushed the cargo to make up for one set.

The game went back to Hangzhou laughing. Tracer of ‘Live’ continued to play an active role in both offense and defense. Dallas took out the diva of ‘Hanbin’ and looked at the variable, but it didn’t work. On the contrary, Hangzhou took the lead by digesting a different fighting style with the same combination with excellent teamwork. In the 4th set, ‘Hanbin”s junker queen showed off her power by steadily recording kills from the start. However, Hangzhou’s damage line steadily defeated Dallas’ healer line, finishing the game 3:1.

The match between Shanghai and Seoul Infernal continued in the second game. Infernal won the first set. When ‘Mag’ took the initiative using racking balls and Orisa, the damage team completed the winning picture by overpowering the opponent’s damage team.

The flow continued. Infernal advanced by taking a three-point lead in the second set. Shanghai’s ‘Viper’ Tracer fought hard, but Infernal ‘Zest-MN3’ took the lead with a more even performance. Shanghai’s attack was blocked at 1 point. Winston of ‘Fleta’ pushed back with primitive rage and secured up to 1 point, but in the 2-point section, ‘MN3”s EMP exploded properly and Infernal took the 2nd set.

In the 3rd set, Infernal also secured 3 points smoothly. Tracer of ‘Zest’ was the main play to get a lot of kills while stirring the map. In defense, ‘MN3’ took the upper hand in the EMP fight against ‘Heesu’ and created a one-sided battle. On the contrary, Shanghai failed to score at the timing of ‘Hee-soo”s EMP and stayed at 0 points. As for the set score, Infernal won 3-0.
