With Mafia: Definitive Edition brings Hangar 13 Almost a completely new game will be launched on August 28, 2020. The city was rebuilt from scratch. What the developers did with the remake goes way beyond most of the remakes. These are positive signals for a potential Follow-up for the next generation of consoles? How about that Mafia 4 Release?
Hangar 13 recently spoke to in an interview SegmentNext about that fans can expect the developer to return for another Mafia game when Mafia: Definitive Edition does well. Until then will Hangar 13 however working on a new project. Work on this has already started. Details were not shared, but the developer implied that the mysterious project was not Mafia 4 is.
“We hope the fans enjoy the Definitive Edition. If things go well, we may be able to redirect our energy to a new part. I know our team would be excited to do another Mafia game if the opportunity arises. In the meantime we are working on another project. I can’t tell you anything about it yet, but suffice it to say we are happy about it. “
Mafia: Definitive Edition will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One at the end of August. Mafia 4, however, is not yet in progress. It depends on the success of the remake.

Mafia 4: release a long way off
Pointed elsewhere in the interview Hangar 13 suggests a full remake of the original Mafia was the goal from the start. Several developers working on Mafia: Definitive Edition worked on the original game as well. Therefore they were “extremely passionate about updating the experience and bringing it to a new audience ”.
“We have a lot of hard work in Mafia: Definitive Edition invested. We rebuilt the Lost Heavon from scratch. We re-recorded the orchestral score. We re-recorded the entire dialogue and captured the facial features of our actors. We have added new vehicles, a close combat system, a new lighting model and numerous audio improvements to our engine. and we have completely revised the core shooting and driving mechanics. “
When asked if Hangar 13 was satisfied with the result of the remake, the developer stated: “We managed to update and improve the original experience without losing the tone and atmosphere that made the original so special.”
Mafia: Definitive Edition will be officially released on August 28, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. This will allow console gamers to experience the full trilogy on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for the first time. Hangar 13 hasn’t made any announcements about bringing the trilogy to next-gen consoles, but it wouldn’t be surprising to know that backward compatibility on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X allows gamers to play the same versions anyway. Without annoying loading times.
A Mafia 4 Release therefore cannot be estimated at the moment because Hangar 13 not working on it yet.
