Today the ANWB is launching a new service called Smart Driver, with which you can check your car and prevent accidents by means of an app.
The ANWB has something new: the Smart Driver monitor with accompanying app. At the very least, the brand new roadside assistance service is an incredibly useful app; you get reminders for the MOT and you get warnings if a breakdown is imminent. But Smart Driver itself can save your life as the service even automatically alerts emergency services if you have been in an accident!
ANWB Smart Driver
According to the ANWB, motorists fear bad luck en masse. Not surprising, because in addition to being late for your appointment, it can also cost you tons of money. That is why the association is launching the ANWB Smart Drive service.
For € 2.50 per month in addition to your Roadside Assistance package you get a connector for your car. This computer sends information to your smartphone with which you can prevent potentially high bills or even accidents.
This new addition to the Roadside Assistance package, which is launched today, uses a connector in the car. Possible car problems are identified before they occur in practice. This can prevent unnecessary breakdown and unexpected repairs.

Data against breakdown
ANWB Smart Driver, for example, notifies you if there are problems with the battery. The app also gives you tips on maintenance, if necessary. And as mentioned, emergency services are called in where necessary if you are involved in an accident. The roadside assistance also knows exactly where you are.
That means that the service incidentally has a nightmare for conspiracy thinkers is. All that data that you share with the ANWB … But it comes in handy. According to its own words, the association can predict bad luck on the basis of all kinds of data and with the help of algorithms. And yes, prevention is always better than cure!
ANWB Smart Driver is now available via the ANWB website.
