LIBREVILLE, November 3, 2024 (AGP) – The seminar workshop on disabled sports, organized by the Gabonese Omnisports Federation for the Disabled (Fegoph) in collaboration with the UNESCO office in Gabon, ended on October 31 with several proposals aimed at handing over Gabon. with a real strategic and active management tool for the promotion and development of disabled sports, he noted the AGP.
This meeting made it possible to bring together all the stakeholders and their expertise at all levels of sports development, to establish an appropriate roadmap for the monitoring and supervision of disabled sports in Gabon . This includes the implementation of several tools and regulations according to national and international standards.
« Creating a regulatory framework for modified sports medicine is essential. We also need to develop infrastructure such as a national sports medicine centre, with a special unit for our disabled athletes,” Dr. Nzogue Mebale praised Jean Jacques, while he was involved.
The participants in the seminar workshop also confirmed the need to apply a real communication strategy to strengthen the visibility of disabled sports and promote this discipline, which is still not well known to the general public.
This conference workshop, which brought together about a hundred participants over two days, was under the theme “Contributing to a national strategy for the promotion and development of sports and disabled sports in Gabon”.
