Fredrik Händemark nobs Malmö Redhawks and goes to Russian St. Petersburg. Instead, the Redhawks are aiming for Carl Söderberg.
– It is a good center, perhaps the best alternative available to us, says Patrik Sylvegård, sports director and CEO of Malmö Redhawks.
Carl Söderberg may be on his way home to Malmö.

After almost six years in the Redhawks, Fredrik Händemark left the club at the turn of the year and moved to the San Jose Sharks.
But after this season, the NHL contract expires for the 27-year-old center.
If he returns to Europe, Fredrik Händemark has an agreement with the Malmö Redhawks, but at the same time he has the right to break it for the KHL or Switzerland.
And that is exactly what will happen.
According to Sydsvenskan’s information is this correct.
– If it is the case that Händemark does not come to our home, then I wish him all the best, says Patrik Sylvegård.
The Redhawks want to sharpen their squad for next season.
– We are looking for three forwards to our first chain. One like Händemark is difficult to replace, but we will do it our way, says Patrik Sylvegård.
This is where Carl Söderberg comes into the picture.
The 35-year-old Malmö guy has played in the NHL since 2015. During the season, he has changed clubs from the Chicago Blackhawks to the Colorado Avalanche. Carl Söderberg is completely regular in the Denver team, but has a contract that expires after the season.
Carl Söderberg has a house in Malmö and always spends his summers in the city.
Getting Söderberg home has long been a dream for the Malmö Redhawks.
– It would have been great fun, says Patrik Sylvegård.
