Four days after the heavy setback against Strasbourg, the SAHB had to reassure itself and revive against Nice this Tuesday evening at the CSI. It’s done with a forceps victory that will do a lot of good for the morale of the Selestadians.
Proligue – D2 (J.7 late): Sélestat 33-31 Nice
Certainly revengeful, the Selestadians start the meeting perfectly by taking a first advantage (5-2 – 7 ′). More successful than in the Alsatian derby, Mehdi Harbaoui (13 saves – 34%) imposes in the Selestadian cage and defeats the Nice offensives. With a newfound defense, Christophe Viennet’s men dominate the first twenty minutes. But Nice (7th) in the race for a first qualification in Play-offs, manages to get back on the heels of Lower Rhine. The Azureans equalize even just before the break (16-16).
Outnumbered at the start of the second period following the second temporary exclusion of Antoine Gutfreund (3 goals – 75%), Sélestat suffered and saw Sébastien Rossi’s teammates (4 goals – 100%) pass in front of the table d ‘display for the first time of the meeting (16-17 – 33 ′). Despite a scenario that once again seems to escape the purple, Sélestat does not abdicate and remains in contact (22-23 – 41 ′). In the standings, Sélestat temporarily climbs to 6th place with 16 points. After two home games, Sélestat will have to confirm this success away from home. However, the next deadline for the Bas-Rhinois will be tough, to say the least, with a perilous trip to Cherbourg on Sunday March 7.
