Handball National Team of Dubai Selection for Macedonia Camp and Asian Championship – January 2025

The technical staff of the handball team, led by Frenchman Danilo Prstovac, has chosen 20 players to travel to the Macedonia camp, the day after tomorrow, Friday. The camp will last 10 days, during which the team will play 4 friendly matches, with the delegation returning next January 8, and heading to Bahrain to participate in the tournament. The 21st Asian Cup, which will be held from January 11 to 25, qualifies for the 2025 World Cup, in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway, and which will be held in the Khalifa City Sports Hall, with the participation of 16 teams, distributed into 4 groups, and the top four qualify for the “World Cup.”
The national team delegation in the Macedonia camp is headed by Faisal Al-Tawash, member of the Federation’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the National Teams Committee, along with Khamis Al-Suwaidi, national team director and coach Prstovac, and 3 assistant coaches: Khalid Ahmed Al-Balushi, Nour Al-Din Damarji, and Tariq Ibrahim, along with Muhammad Fouad, a physiotherapist, and 20 players, Muhammad Ismail. Hilal Jihad, Ahmed Abdullah, Saif Al Ansari, Ahmed Hilal, Dhahi Muhammad, Tariq Shaheen, Rashid Saeed, Abdullah Khamis, Rashid Framarz, Abdul Rahman Khamis, Marzouq Ahmed, Ibrahim Al Balushi, Salem Khalfan, Zayed Muhammad, Muhammad Abdullah, Muhammad Jumaa, Mubarak Abdullah, Saud Suleiman, and Salah Bashir.
The last training session in the French School Hall in Dubai was attended by Nasser Al Hammadi, Secretary General of the Federation, Faisal Al Tawash, Chairman of the National Teams Committee, and a number of administrators. The final training witnessed the honoring of a number of clubs and entities that helped the team in the preparation program during the last period, in a distinguished gesture from the Federation.
Nasser Al Hammadi, Secretary General of the Federation, spoke to the players and asked them to put in a lot of effort and sweat in the training and said: “We are heading towards the Asian Championship, and our ambitions are great, and everyone must realize the responsibility placed on us, especially since the dream of qualifying for the World Cup is on everyone’s mind and the Macedonia camp is the final stage of preparation.” “I believe that Al-Ittihad provided everything, and it was the role of the players in the tournament matches, to achieve the goal of participation.”
Faisal Al-Tawash, Chairman of the National Teams Committee, thanked the General Sports Authority and the clubs that helped the Federation in implementing the preparation program and opening the halls for training in them, especially the Al-Nasr, Al-Ain, Al-Wasl and Sharjah clubs, and said: “All the game clubs did not neglect us during the preparation process, and we will play 4 friendly matches.” With the Macedonia camp facing Kosovo, Greece and Macedonia, and great ambitions in the Asian Championship, we have great confidence in our players, especially since all the challenges facing the players were overcome, and we ended the sports sabbatical, and there was a major role for the General Sports Authority.”
Al-Tawash added: “We went through a long journey in preparing for this tournament, whether participating in the Olympic qualifiers in Doha, which was the strongest interaction for the players, or playing a number of friendly matches and weekly training, and there was a great commitment from all the players, and we hope that this generation will succeed in achieving the goal and rising.” For the World Cup.
