The best scorers of the game were Hampus Wanne with eight goals for Flensburg and Casper Mortensen with six goals for Hamburg.
The climber from the Hanseatic city played freely in front of the 5222 spectators in the Flensburg Arena. After ten minutes, Frederik Bo Andersen made it 5:4 for Hamburg’s first lead, which his Danish compatriot Mortensen extended to 8:6 (15 th ) with a penalty throw. In defense, HSV initially kept the Flensburg axis well in check with playmaker Jim Gottfridsson and pivot Johannes Golla. Only thanks to an art throw from left wing Wanne did the hosts go into half-time with a narrow lead.
After the break, Flensburg put the lead at 19:15 (37th), but failed to go any further due to mistakes of their own. It only became clear in the final phase when the forces of Hamburg dwindled more and more.
In the second game of the day, TBV Lemgo Lippe lost to HC Erlangen 27:33 (18:15). The Lippers had to do without their sick head coach Florian Kehrmann. His assistant Mathias Struck took over for the 44-year-old.
