The handball players from BSV Sachsen Zwickau celebrated their second win of the season. Coach Norman Rentsch’s protégés had the upper hand against TuS Metzingen with 28:22 (14:12) in the Bundesliga game in the Zwickau town hall on Saturday. Arwen Gorb (6), Blanka Kajdon (6/3), Kaho Nakayama (5) and Laura Szabo (5/3) played the largest role in the hosts’ success. Jana Scheib (6) and Nele Franz (6/3) scored the most goals for Metzingen.

The Zwickau women got off to a very good start in the game and were leading 4-1 after ten minutes. Nine minutes later, however, the guests had equalized 6:6. An open exchange of blows then developed. After the 19:16 lead (41st), the guests fell behind by 20:21 (45th). In the final quarter of an hour, thanks to their outstanding defense with goalkeeper Barbara Gyori, the Zwickau women only allowed one goal and secured the decision in this match with an 8-1 run.
