The handball players from VfL Potsdam are playing their first season in the Bundesliga. After six games without a win, Brandenburg are bottom of the table. The young team is in a learning process.

The faith is unbroken, the will is unbroken and we will work so hard that we will earn the points,” said sporting director Axel Bornemann in an interview with rbb. The Brandenburgers are bottom of the table with no points after six defeats in a row.
For Potsdam, the focus is not just on staying in the league. “For us, the development and training of the boys to become seasoned Bundesliga players is our top priority. We knew that we had to develop quality, and we will do that over the course of this season and we are already doing it from game to game,” said Bornemann clearly.
There are worlds apart between the Bundesliga and the 2nd league
Most recently, VfL held up well against THW Kiel. In the end, however, Emir Kurtagic’s team was once again left empty-handed. The newcomer is in a learning process with its young players. “I think we’re not far away. You can always be stronger in the squad, but we’re committed to training and developing and we’re not moving away from that philosophy,” announced Bornemann.
In the opinion of the sporting director, there are worlds between the 1st and 2nd leagues. “Here the strongest league in the world and there the 2nd league. That’s something completely different in terms of the level of the opponents and the setting also demands a lot from you,” said Bornemann, looking at the much larger halls.
