On Sunday morning strangers stole a handbag from a Renault Twingo on Florian-Geyer-Straße.
The perpetrators destroyed a side window of the car and stole the bag with cash and documents from the interior. The value of the stolen goods was put at around 200 euros. The amount of the property damage also amounts to approx. 200 euros. (sg)

Unknown people have apparently tried to steal a Seat Altea from Gutenbergstrasse in the past few days. The perpetrators gained access to the interior of the car in an unknown manner. When trying to start the car, they caused property damage of around 1,000 euros. (sg)

Driving under the influence of alcohol
At the weekend, officers from the Riesa police station stopped several drunk drivers.

On Saturday morning the police checked the driver (37) of an Iveco on Großenhainer Straße. An alcohol test showed a value of over 0.5 per thousand. Administrative offense proceedings for driving under the influence of alcohol have been initiated.

A Simson driver (23) was on Saturday evening with around 1.7 per thousand. Police checked the 23-year-old German on Schifferstrasse. After the result of the alcohol test on site, the officers arranged for a blood sample, secured the man’s driver’s license and initiated an investigation into drunk driving.

A 32-year-old German can expect more far-reaching consequences. On Sunday morning he was out and about in a VW Golf on Riesaer Strasse in Oelsnitz. An alcohol test showed a value of around 1.2 per thousand. Here, too, the officers arranged for a blood sample to be taken and secured the man’s driver’s license.
Shortly after the police measures were over, police officers found the 32-year-old with the Golf on the B6 in Reppen again. An alcohol test showed a value of around 0.7 per mille. Stolen jukebox

In the past few days, strangers broke into a Kia Picanto in a parking lot at the Bahnhofstrasse.
The perpetrators smashed a side window and stole a jukebox worth around 100 euros from the car. The amount of property damage was estimated at around 300 euros. (sg)
Cyclists injured in traffic accident

On Sunday morning, a cyclist (68) was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Müglitztalstraße.
The driver (24) of an Audi A7 turned left from Schillerstraße onto Müglitztalstraße. This led to a collision with the pedelec driver coming from the left. The 68-year-old had to be taken to hospital as a result. The property damage to the bike and the Audi amounts to a total of around 1,000 euros. (sg)
