A handbag left in a gray Fiat Punto attracted a criminal on Monday morning (April 25). Between 8:45 a.m. and 10 a.m., the as-yet-unknown perpetrator smashed the window in the driver’s door and grabbed the bag that had been left behind. At this point the car was parked on Schleiermacherstrasse. The perpetrator stole money, among other things, with the purse. The Darmstadt Kripo investigates and is looking for witnesses. Anyone who was able to observe the crime or can provide information about the perpetrator is asked to contact the investigators on 06151/969-0. In addition, the officials are once again taking the current events as an opportunity and pointing out: A car is not a safe! What is left behind quickly attracts thieves, who only need a few minutes to get their coveted loot. The annoyance afterwards is likely to be of longer duration for those who have been robbed.
