The man who shows up at the bar isn’t very young, but he still speaks loudly.
Confident, the former doctor in charge of the French Blood Establishment (EFS) of the Departmental Hospital Center (CHD) had to respond to criminal court of La Roche-sur-Yonof two facts ofsexual assault in the exercise of his profession.

At 79, the doctor – a former general practitioner who has been busying his retirement at EFS – has had a hard time figuring out what he’s doing at the helm.

The defendant denies the facts on the pretext that he simply “touched her with his hip” to recover a file.
“This is completely wrong!” Claims the victim at the bar who once again describes the scene in great detail.
He asks for a symbolic €1 for repairs “So that people don’t think I’m doing it for the money,” she says.
Accustomed to “impertinent, obscene and sexist remarks”
From the investigation it emerges, on the basis of various testimonies, that the doctor was known to be tactile “with young women”, “misogynistic” and regularly made “impertinent, lewd and sexist remarks”.
One of the testimonies even reports this phrase, attributed to the doctor:
“The place of the woman is to serve the man. »
The case goes back to the management of the French Blood Establishment e the doctor is fired during the summer of 2021without seizure of the College of Physicians.
The already demoted Doctor 2017
It wasn’t the first time the doctor had been talked about.
Five years ago it had already been retrogradegoing from doctor in charge of collection to doctor, “with a drop in salary”, specifies the man at the helm.
This case did not immediately make noise, because the victim, a temporary worker, feared losing his missions.
On August 3, 2017, a medical secretary who regularly provides for replacements announces her pregnancy to everyoneduring a collection a St. Ermine.

At the time, the young woman had written to the temporary agency to report her assault, but had not dared to go further.
He receives an apology email from the doctor who recognizes “an inappropriate gesture”, but adds to the bar:
She was very happy, it showed on her face. It was an encouraging gesture, more or less medical, more or less kind.
The victim says he is “indignant” and a double victim “because I lost my job. I had no mission at EFS. We preferred to sacrifice a victim”.
I filed a complaint because I didn’t want him to do it again.
His lawyer, Maître Clarisse Feron, brushed aside the so-called “medical act” and asked his client for 2,500 euros in damages.
Culture shock
The defendant’s attorney does not seek to defend his client’s actions:
“This is not normal behavior today in 2022,” she pleads, but tries to put herself in the doctor’s shoes:
It’s not a sexual gesture from his point of view. The norm has changed.
The lawyer invokes “the clash of cultures and generations” and recalls that his client was known for “the precision of his diagnoses and his seriousness” when he was a doctor.
He takes to court a number of statements from former patients and relatives.
Requested a one-year suspended sentence
The prosecutor does not hesitate for a second on the characterization of the two sexual assaults.
He calls for a one-year suspended prison sentence and adds:
I don’t have the impression that the doctor really realizes the seriousness of the facts he is accused of…
The lawsuit is adjourned as of January 23, 2023.
