Quinten Wood expected to be able to play in Wednesday’s De Klassieker between Ajax and Feyenoord. At least, that’s what he says David Hancko. According to the Feyenoord player, the ankle injury does not appear to be serious.
He twisted his ankle in the last minutes of FC Utrecht – Feyenoord and had to be replaced. With the clash against Ajax just around the corner, the 0-2 victory for the Rotterdam team seemed overwhelming, but Hancko is positive. The Slovakian asked his amazing teammate in the locker room if his Classic would be involved. “Quinten said it wouldn’t be a problem,” Hancko tells him Algemeen Dagblad. “I’m sure the doctor will check on him.”
Hancko feels ready for Ajax away. “We don’t train much now, because the games follow each other quickly. But our self-confidence is completely back,” he says of Rotterdam’s progress, including an impressive Champions League win over Benfica. Still, Hancko keeps his pace. “A in that respect, we will stay for the week with Ajax, AZ and RB Salzburg, that is a very important week for us.”
“Things are going well. We have lost Mats Wieffer and Lutsharel Geertruida, but it seems that now everything is falling apart again,” said the defender Feyenoord. “It’s just, PSV have won the games so easily so far, that’s something.”
