Hanan al-Ahmadi, First Lady in Saudi Arabia Syuro Assembly Leadership Page all

The restructured Senior Ulama Council will be chaired by Mufti Grand Sheikh Abdulaziz al-Sheikh and consist of 20 members.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Abdallah al-Sheikh has been appointed as the Head of the new Government Syuro Council which will oversee 150 members for the next four years.

One of the new names that caught the attention was Dr Hanan binti Abdulraheem al-Ahmadi, Deputy Head of Syuro Assembly Saudi Arabia.

This is because Hanan is the first woman to hold a leadership position in the Syrian Syrian Council.

Quoted from the official website of the Saudi Arabian Shuro Council, Hanan completed his bachelor’s degree in economics from King Saud University in 1985.

Three years later, in 1988, he earned a master’s degree in health service administration from Tulane University, United States.

Hanan also earned a doctoral degree in public health from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, in 1994.

Much of his career has been spent in academia as a professor at the Institute of Public Administration in Saudi Arabia.

On that campus, Hanan served as coordinator of the health administration field from 2004-2008 and a member of the scientific council in 2013-2015.

Hanan also served on the Board of Directors of the Saudi Management Society from 2003-2007, as well as a member of the Cultural Advisory Committee from 2011-2016.

Several times, Hanan has also been part of the awarding team of a number of awards, such as the Abu Dhabi Award (2008), Sheikh Khalifa Awar (2012), and the Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman Award (2019).

Currently, he is still a member of the Board of Trustees of the Riyadh Economics Forum and the Board of Trustees at Prence Muqrin University.

Before being appointed Deputy Chairman, Hanan has also served as a member of the Syuro Council since 2013.

He had occupied two fields when he was a member of the Shuro Council, namely economics and energy, as well as health and environmental affairs.

Quoting Arabic, Monday (19/10/2020), Hanan said he was surprised to learn that he was appointed as one of the leaders of the Saudi Arabian Syrian Council.

“At first I was overwhelmed because the appointment was shocking and a great sense of responsibility for the importance of this historic decision,” said Hanan.

“I was then excited about this new opportunity to make a difference and be truly involved in the decision-making process,” he continued.
