Hana Zagorová: Two years after her death, a big secret came to light | Universe24.cz

More than two years after the death of the famous Czech singer Hana Zagorová (†75), a long secret news arrives: two of her previously unreleased recordings will finally be released to the public.

During her life, the singer refused to let these songs see the light of day, so they remained hidden for many years. However, fans will now be able to hear them on an album called Czechoslovak chanson.

Music publisher Tomáš Padevět planned to release archive recordings last year. However, the heir to the rights and Hana Zagorová’s husband, Štefan Margita, complicated the project in the end.

“Stefan Margita agreed at first, but in the end he insisted that only Supraphon Zagorová could publish,” said Padevět according to Flash.

Therefore, the recordings could not be released under the Multisonic publishing house of Karel Vágner, a long-time collaborator of Hana Zagorová.

Nevertheless, this year, after many ups and downs, at least two unknown songs from the early years of her career were released: The Sea and I Know Love. The composition of “The Sea” dates back to 1966 and both songs have the usual singing style that Zagorová was famous for at the beginning of her career.
