Host Han Peekel, who died on Tuesday, will be the focus of an episode of his program on Christmas Day Television monument. Each episode focuses on an influential TV personality or well-known show.
Rik Felderhof retraces Peekel’s career in the special episode, who passed away at the age of 75. It uses invisible material that Felderhof made in honor of Peekel’s 70th birthday. The broadcast can be viewed at 10.43pm at the Omroep MAX.
There are still some broadcasts of it Television monument planned with Peekel as host. Omroep MAX has announced that he will continue to air these episodes after consulting with Peekel’s family, with due regard to his death. It’s not yet clear what will happen to the program next.
On Tuesday, Peekel’s daughter announced that the host had died. The Rotterdammer was best known for TV shows like Keep on in Television monument. In the program Keep on, which aired on television from 1982 to 1997, children could imitate their favorite cartoon character. Peekel died suddenly of a heart attack while on holiday in Bali.
