“HAMMOND Organ Opening Concert in Liepāja’s Lutheran Church – May 12, 2023”

On Friday, May 12, at 7:00 p.m., the opening concert of the HAMMOND organ will be held in Liepāja’s Lutheran Church, where Atis Andersons (Hammond organ), Santa Schiller (vocals), Āris Ozols (guitar) and Kaspars Kurdeko (percussion instruments) will perform with a program specially dedicated to this unique instrument. ).

The Liepāja HAMMOND is a unique instrument that was produced in Riga in 1937 and is one of three copies that have survived to this day. Currently, under the leadership of the Dutch master Gandert de Bo, the restoration of the instrument has begun. The concert will be an opportunity to hear the unique sound of the Liepāja HAMMOND, to evaluate the restoration work done so far, to get acquainted with the story of the Liepaja organ and the further restoration plan of the instrument.

The project takes place with the co-financing of the State Culture Capital Fund and the Culture Projects of the Liepāja State City Municipality.
