Since Jesper Jansson’s dismissal earlier this summer, the work to build a new sporting organization in Hammarby Fotboll has intensified. The first step in the work is now complete and during yesterday’s members’ meeting it was announced that Mikael Hjelmberg can now title himself as sports manager for the men’s operations, that is, no longer acting as acting director.
– Mikael is an extremely competent sports director with long experience of Hammarby as a club. He is an incredibly valued colleague and manager, who stands for continuity and has great confidence in the organization among players and leaders. He is and continues to be very important to us in the investment we are making around the sporting organization. I am very happy on behalf of Hammarby that “Micke” chooses to stay at the club. It shows that he believes in the club and what we do, says CEO Richard von Yxkull.
– I am grateful and proud to have been given this opportunity. Since I joined the club over ten years ago, I have acted in various roles, I know the club and know its mechanisms. Now I look forward with excitement to the continued journey with Hammarby both nationally and internationally. I want to build on the work that has already begun together with the rest of the organization, says sports manager Mikael Hjelmberg.
